Day 1: Kigali International Airport Pick-Up and Transfer to Your Hotel Upon your arrival, meet with our guide and get transferred to your hotel. If time allows, proceed with a Kigali city tour. Day 2: Game Drive in Akagera National Park After breakfast, drive with your packed snacks to Akagera National Park’s reception. Check in and start your game safari through the scenic areas. Animals you can expect to see include elephants, giraffes, herds of antelopes, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, cats, and buffalos. Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park, Kings’ Palace Museum After lunch, drive to Butare, where Rwanda takes its roots. Visit the King’s Palace Museum where the famous and majestic Rwandan kings were staying. Enter the king’s palace and learn about the royal style, the smartness, and the authority of pre-colonial Rwanda. See the famous Long Horns Rwandan Cow in the palace backyard. Day 4: Tea Plantation Experience and Canopy Walk Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Rwandan tea with a captivating experience at the Gisakura Tea Plantation. Embark on a journey from the humble tea leaf to the invigorating cup of tea that graces your table. Later, go for the canopy walk over the Nyungwe forest. After, transfer to Rusizi and stay at the Emerauld Hotel. Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Kahuzi-Biega National Park in Congo After breakfast, go for a briefing at Kahuzi-Biega National Park. Move in a company of experienced ranger guides through the forest with your packed lunch, water, tracking gears to meet the gorillas for one hour while taking photos for remembrance. Time taken while searching for these great apes ranges between 2 to 4 hours depending on the movement of the gorilla groups. Day 6: Kahuzi Mount Hike After breakfast, go on a hike up Mount Kahuzi in Kahuzi-Biega National Park. This is an exciting and rewarding experience, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding rainforest and a chance to encounter some of the park’s diverse wildlife. It is with an elevation of 3,317 meters, taking approximately 4 hours to reach the summit and 3 hours to descend. Day 7: Transfer to Burundi, and Tanganyika Beach After breakfast, drive about 6 hours and go to relax at Tanganyika Beach. Continue to Bujumbura. If time allows, continue with a Bujumbura city tour. Day 8: Karera Waterfalls Experience and Germany Fault Experience Embark on the journey to Karera Waterfalls, which is an adventure in itself. Later, drive 1.5 hours to visit the Germany Fault. The Germany or Nyakazu Fault is a truly magical place that offers visitors a unique perspective on the beauty of Burundi. Day 9: Gishora Drum Sanctuary Drive 2 hours towards Gitega and go to experience the most rewarding experience in Burundi, drums. Later, get transferred to your hotel. Day 10: Visit Intore Warrior and Transfer to Bujumbura Drive about 3 hours and go for the “Intore warriors,” a group of traditional warriors in Burundi. Later, get transferred to Bujumbura to fly back home.
